Best line: The shiny guy always worries.
A Jack Russell terrier viciously attacks a bouquet of 74 party balloons, popping each and every one of them in less than a minute.
As the little bug-eyed animal freaks out, it sounds less like a dog and more like a gremlin being strangled.
Keeping that in mind, here are 10 of the most entertainingly pointless videos that we fed our precious minutes to this year.

Local shops that rely on holiday shopping to boost their yearly sales may have to get more creative this holiday season. We average about 9 percent of our sales in the month of December, and I always close from Christmas to New Year’s, said Matthew Marinari, owner of the Mitre Box, an art and custom framing shop in Oak Hill Centre at the Y.

Amid a swarm of bargain hunters, just a few feet in front of me, two men — grown men — throw punches in the middle of Target.
This is Black Friday at its worst.
You might assume an event like this, which I witnessed last year, would sour me on shopping the day after Thanksgiving.
I’ve been chasing early bird doorbusters for years, and there’s always a story to tell.
Yes, I’ve seen my share of injustice — jerks jumping line, nasty salespeople, physical assault — and it angers me.
Last year, a man I met in line offered to carry my 37-inch flat screen TV to the checkout.
Another stranger stood guard over my TV while I got a shopping cart.
I’m not a Black Friday expert, but I’ve learned a thing or two since my mom dragged me out of bed to get a dirt-cheap Dirt Devil when I was on fall break from college.

Spendthrift (spend’ thrift’) n. a person who spends money carelessly; squanderer.
Frugal (froo’ gel) adj. not wasteful; not spending freely; thrifty.
As economic news has worsened and recession appears inevitable, Americans’ spending habits have swung from one definition to another.
Spendthrift to frugal, in record time.

According to a recent USA Today/Gallup Poll, 55 percent say they’ve cut household spending as a result of lower prices in the stock market and fears about the economy. Just slightly more say they’ll spend less on Christmas gifts this year than last.
They’re...
