Wanted: Toys for kids in Somerville
Curtatone and Cindy Hickey, executive director of the Somerville Council on Aging, remind all community members that the annual Toys for Local Children charity drive is now accepting donations to support local families during the holiday season.
All interested community members may make monetary or toy donations by contacting TLC at 617-680-4254.
Toys for Local Children is a volunteer-run, nonprofit organization supporting local children who are victims of violence, displacement or poverty.
Supported by the Somerville Fire Department and the Somerville Council on Aging, the charitable organization provided toys and funding to more than 9,000 children in 2007.
